LCS House Projects Photo Album

Library

  Original

This is the area under the front of the house - kitchen and dining room. Ripped out the white plush carpet (also in most of the rest of the basement) and laid glue-down office carpetting - the night before the movers were bringing all the furniture and boxes. This area holds all nine of the book shelves I had in my old house, as well as the book shelves we had built for the old library closets. Those make the entryway into the library. My stuffed animals top all of the shelves and more.

When I changed the colors in the rest of the basement, I repainted the paperback book shelves and added stainless steel legs. (2017)

I moved my old TV down here and added a cheap DVD player; installed ceiling fan; new office chair. (2017)

In 2020, I found that the base of the bookcase at the back of the library was rotted from old water damage. So the shelves needed to be replaced.  A good time to also paint that wall.

Then new shelving and books and animals reloaded.

Still two tubs of animals to redistribute.

Library shelves all re-organized, walls painted, rope lights strung, and animals back in place
